Ajvar and aijvar (Cyrillic: ajвар/aивар; pronounced [ǎj.ʋaːr]) originated in the Serbian cuisine, and for a while was known as “Serbian salad”.It became a popular side dish throughout Yugoslavia after World War II. It can be sweet, slightly spicy or very hot.
Ingredients
2 whole Large Eggplants
3 whole Large Red Bell Peppers
2 cloves Garlic, Chopped (optional)
1 whole Lemon, Juiced
1 teaspoon cumin (optional)
½ cups Olive Oil
1 teaspoon Salt
