Green pea and coconut dhal: vegan, gluten free, wholesome and utterly delicious.
Ingredients
1 tsp black mustard seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
500 g freshly shelled peas (if not available use the same weight of frozen peas)
1/4 tsp asafoetida
1/2 tsp sea salt
1 can coconut milk
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
1 green chilli, seeds in, roughly chopped
2 cm piece of ginger, peeled and roughly chopped
2 tbsp groundnut oil
1 tsp garam masala
1 tbsp fresh coriander
