Plum Crumble
Plum Crumble – deliciously sweet, crunchy crumble accompanied by the tartness of fresh plums. Perfect for a winter dessert or seasonal comfort food (dairy-free & vegan)
The Fruit:
500 grams (18 ounces) fresh plums, cut in quarters with stones removed
¼ – ½ cup sugar (depending on tartness of plums, taste before cooking.
2 TBS minced crystalised ginger
1 TBS booze such as rum or whisky (optional)
Zest/Juice of one lemon
1 tsp corn starch
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp (freshly) ground nutmeg
The Crumble:
½ cup flour
¾ cup muesli
¼ cup brown sugar
½ tsp baking powder
60g (2 ounces) dairy-free spread (or dairy-free butter)
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp each of nutmeg and cinnamon
