1 and ¼ cup yellow or vanilla boxed cake mix
½ teaspoon baking soda
¾ cup (1.5 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup light brown sugar
1 egg, at room temperature
1 and ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup white chocolate or milk chocolate chips
½ cup sprinkles
