It’s Chinese New Year! This recipe is based on the Chinese restaurant classic “Honey Chicken” – but, of course, this is completely vegetarian!
Ingredients
½ teaspoon cornstarch (cornflour)
2 tablespoons hot water, divided
2 teaspoons honey
1/8 teaspoon sesame oil
¼ teaspoon vegetable (or faux chicken) broth powder
1/8 teaspoon granulated garlic
½ teaspoon soy sauce
1/3 cup almond milk
2 tablespoons frozen peas or diced carrots, optional
½ cup rolled oats
¼ teaspoon baking powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 -2 teaspoons sesame seeds
