Spicy and tangy tomato pickle/relish/chutney south Indian style!!! They go great with any Indian flatbread, as a spread in sandwiches or with idlis (Indian rice-lentil steamed cakes) or dosas (Indian crepes).
Ingredients
12 to 14 medium sized tomatoes
4 green chillies/jalapenos
1 ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
15 to 20 curry leaves
1 teaspoon hing/asafoetida (an aromatic Indian spice)
1 teaspoon fenugreek seeds/methi seeds
2 teaspoons red chilli powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
¼ cup to ½ cup oil
Salt to taste
