Country fried vegan steak with gravy.
Seitan Cutlets:
1 cup vital wheat gluten
½ cup pumpkin
3 tablespoons garbanzo bean flour (or all purpose if you do not have)
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
½ cup vegetable stock
½ teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon garlic powder
Country Fried Vegan Steaks:
4 seitan cutlets
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 cup all purpose flour
1 tablespoon turmeric (optional – for color)
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon pepper
vegetable oil for frying.
Vegan Gravy:
2-3 tablespoons all purpose flour
3 tablespoons leftover oil
1 tablespoon nut butter or almond butter
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
