Black Bean Burgers
Crispy and slightly golden on the outside, chewy on the inside with the perfect blend of spiciness, smokiness and sweetness: these black bean burgers are love at first bite.
1 and ½ cup (250g) black beans (cooked from dried beans or from a can, drained and rinsed)
½ cup (65g) oat (use gluten free if desired) or whole-wheat flour
2-3 tablespoons (35g) Sriracha sauce (or any other hot sauce)
1 teaspoon ground caraway seed
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon dried oregano or parsley
2 tablespoons water (or more to achieve compact, dough-like consistency)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon smoked paprika (optional)
¾ cup (120g) corn (drained and rinsed if using canned)
6 whole grain burger buns (use gluten free if desired) and toppings of choice
