glazed pear donuts with salted caramel drizzle
Pear donuts baked with cinnamon, dunked in a pear & cream cheese glaze and finished off with salted caramel. Breakfast or dessert…who’s keeping track.
2 cups white whole flour
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 egg
1 1/4 cups buttermilk (or yogurt thinned with milk)
2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup finely diced pears (about 1 1/2 pears, peeled & cored, pulsed in a food processor)
6 Tablespoons cream cheese, melted
2 Tablespoons pear juice or pear puree (if using fresh pear puree, add a squeeze of lemon juice to prevent browning)
1 cup powdered sugar
salted caramel sauce
