1/4 cup diced onion

1 bay leaf
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 sprigs fresh thyme or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic or 2 garlic cloves minced
