Almond Crusted Baked Tofu Nuggets
These Almond Crusted Baked Tofu Nuggets have a healthy almond breading, a umami-packed inside, and a creamy avocado dip. What’s not to love?
1 16 oz (453 g) block of tofu
1 Tbsp (15 mL) sesame oil
1 Tbsp (15 mL) olive oil (or just 2 Tbsp olive oil if you don’t have sesame)
2 Tbsp (30 mL) reduced sodium soy sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
¼ cup (31 g) flour (or all-purpose gluten-free flour)
1 egg, whisked (or 1 Tbsp ground flax seed + 3 Tbsp water for vegan)
1 cup (170 g) whole almonds
1 Tbsp nutritional yeast
½ tsp salt
½ tsp paprika
¼ tsp ground black pepper
1 avocado, pit removed
½ cup (142 g) plain Greek yogurt (or dairy-free alternative)
½ cup (handful) fresh chopped parsley
2 cloves garlic, minced
Juice of 1 lime
Pinch each of salt and pepper
