asparagus, lemon and basil pasta

This is such a quick and simple dish, which has the added advantage of being able to be cooked in just one pan. It is also utterly delicious.
Ingredients
12-16 fresh asparagus spears
150 g pennette, or other pasta of your choice
1 tbsp fresh basil leaves, roughly chopped
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
juice and zest of 1 lemon
30 g vegetarian Parmesan cheese, thinly sliced with a vegetable peeler
pinch sea salt
