Easy onion bhajis with tamarind date chutney are a perfect vegan snack. They are easy to make and taste with the slightly spicy date chutney.
Ingredients
TAMARIND DATE CHUTNEY:
15 dates, pitted & chopped
1 tsp ground coriander
½-1 tsp hot chilli powder (depending on your tolerance)
2 tbsp tamarind purée
a bit of salt, to taste
ONION BHAJI:
2 medium red onions
100 g gram/chickpea flour
1 garlic clove, pressed
1½ level tsp salt
½ tsp garam masala
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground coriander
½ tsp hot chilli
1 tbsp / 15 ml lemon juice
sunflower oil for frying
