Frosted Apple Almond Butter Cookies

Warming, wonderful, delightful in their simplicity – these cookies taste like home. You won’t be able to eat just one!

Dry ingredients:
150g (1 cup) spelt flour
2 tbsp ground flaxseed
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda

Wet ingredients:
60ml (1/4 cup) melted coconut oil
3 tbsp maple syrup
75ml (1/3 cup) apple puree (or 1 grated apple)
2 tbsp runny almond butter (I used Meridian) + extra for frosting

18-20 almonds
