Aloo Posto

Aloo posto – potatoes cooked in poppy seed paste, with mustard oil and five spice tempering. A delicately flavored Bengali vegan dish.

Ingredients
  • Potatoes – 4 medium-sized
  • White poppy seeds – 2 tablespoons
  • Green chilies – 2
  • Turmeric powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – to taste
  • Panch phoron – 1 teaspoon
  • Mustard oil – 2 teaspoons
