Pigeon peas cooked with yellow cucumber- An Andhra specialty. It is a very quick and no fuss recipe with basic ingredients. It goes very well with steamed rice or roti.
Ingredients
One cup Pigeon Peas / Tuvr / tur dal
2.5 Cup Doctor sakaya chopped
1 Cup Tomato / Tamatar Chopped
2 Green chili/hari mirch
1 tbsp Tamarind pulp
3/4 tsp Turmeric Powder / Haldi Powder
1 tsp Red chili powder
salt to taste
Tempering/tadka
2 tbsp Cooking oil or ghee
3/4 tsp Mustard Seeds / Rai
1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds / Sabut Jeera
pinch of Fenugreek Seeds / Methidana
1/3 tsp Asafoetida / Hing powder
2 Dried Red Chilli, Whole
10 Curry Leaves
