A recipe for cream scones with pear, fresh ginger and crystalized ginger and drizzled with white chocolate.
Ingredients
For the Scones:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup (8 tablespoons) cold butter, cut into pieces
2/3 cups, plus 1 tablespoon, heavy whipping cream, divided
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
1 egg
2 tsp. grated fresh ginger
1/2 cup crystalized ginger, chopped (also sometimes labeled candied ginger)
1 cup chopped pear (from about 1 pear)
For the White Chocolate Drizzle:
4 ounces white chocolate, chopped
1 tsp. coconut oil
