Classic Christmas Italian dessert, made of deep fried little dough balls, fragrant with orange, lemon zest and limoncello, coated in honey.
Ingredients
400 g flour type 00
3 eggs, organic, free run
80 g butter, melted and cooled
40 g granulated sugar
2 Tbsp limoncello (or anice liquor, or orange liquor)
1 orange, the zest
1 lemon, the zest
1 levelled tsp baking powder
pinch of salt
about 600-700 ml peanut oil (or any other vegetable oil) for frying
Decoration:
250-300 g acacia honey
1 Tbsp icing sugar
3 Tbsp sprinkles
some candied fruits
some sugar pearls
