Miso glazed cauliflower
This recipe is inspired by one of my favourite Japanese dish : nasu dengaku, aka miso lacquered eggplant. I love this dish so much that I’ve been meaning to try it with other veggies for a while, so that I could eat it even when it’s not eggplant season. Turns out it works very well with cauliflower!
– half a medium cauliflower
– sesame oil (or another vegetable oil of your choice)
– 2 tbsp miso (white miso is prefered, but use whatever you have on hand. Choose GF if needed)
– 2 tbsp mirin
– 1 tsp sugar
– 1 tbsp soy sauce or tamari (only if using a sweet miso paste)
– 1 tsp rice or apple cider vinegar (optional)
– to serve : sesame seeds (whatever colour you have on hand), chopped scallion
